Dana 21/20 swap
I saw some pics reffering to a dana 21 to 20 swap. I have looked around the site, but cannot find an actual write-up of what needs to be done to convert to a dana 20. Any info on how to go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.

I think what you saw was the pics showing that the bolt pattern is different. what tranny are you trying to put the D20 on?

np435. That may be what I saw, is this a lost cause? Should I just swap out the tranny, to a t18/t19? Does anyone know how stong the dana 21 is?
Re: Dana 21/20 swap
The dana 21 is a single speed transfer case...No Low range. It's strength is probably about the same as a Dana 20.
The pictures are on the home page are basically to show the differences in the cases. I was looking into using the Dana 21 adapter with a Dana 20 case. I know of one guy that pulled it off. I ultimately decided not to do it. It was just to critical of a piece for me to gamble with, so I bought the Advance Adapters unit. The low cost and availability of the NP435's was enough to offset the cost of the adapter.

you know it's a shame they don't make a clocking adaptor to go from the D21 adaptor to the D20....
