1310 Dana 60 strap yoke how to

Post by EBSTEVE »

I needed a 1310 yoke for a fine splined Dana 60. I wanted a u-bolt yoke not a strap yoke due to the fact they are stronger, sounds easy rite? The Spicer part # is 2-4-3801X so I called my guy at Napa and he told me the part number is obsolete. I started searching and found a few on Egay and some that would take a week to get but I wanted to setup my gears Sunday and it's Saturday now! In searching I found information on the internet that says you can use a combination of a modified strap yoke and some 1330 straps so I gave it a shot since I had found a strap yoke earlier in my searches.
This is the easiest mod I think I have ever done and it saved me a few dollars on a yoke, but I was a bit leery at first because it sounded so simple. A picture is worth a thousand words and I don’t like reading when I can look at the pictures so here goes.

Finished yoke and strap.
<br />All you have to do is drill the small holes up to .3125 (5/16) and use a 1330 strap. The 1330 is the same diameter as a 1310 the strap is just wider at the threaded end so it fits the bolt pattern. That’s it just drill it, de-bur
