howdy folks!!

Post by TRUNK_MONKEY »

been looking for info for a ranger solid axle swap, and thought i'd stop by,and post up.i figured since they are so close in design,i hope you dont mind.
Image
some of our basic info--
2wd ranger going to 4 wd
8.8 out back with 410's
front will have high pinion d30 with leaf springs(under)
410's
jeep rubicon wheels and MTR's
2300 engine............i know,but a fresh engine.lots of power and bored/ported.
will flatbed it,and get 'er rolling.
lift so far--
2 1/2 inches of lowering the leaf mounts
new ranger springs (netted 3 inches of lift)from a 2004 ranger
and MTR's are 6 inches bigger than the stock 14's.the rear is currently 12 inches up,but will come down a bit as we lift the front, and make the bed.
Image
also have an OX locker going up front, and for now a lunchbox for the rear.
Image
that is my e brake cable solution--the rear axle is a 2004 and the cables wont go with a 90 truck.so i looped the rear and tied off the front back to itself and joined them with 2 straight bars and 2 garage door pulleys.and a small spring to pull the pulleys up when no brake tension is on.total cost--9 dollars US. and the cables wont bind against each other as you apply tension.
the rear axle and springs came from the same truck--a totalled 2004 ranger with under 7 thousand miles on it.
well,we shall post back as we go and share the knowledge as we go.
