will a tranny and transfer case out of an 87 BII fit in a 91 ranger? both at Mitzubishi trannys.

define 'FIT'. a tranny and transfer case from an 87 bii will also fit into an 88 yugo...with some creativity. so yes, anything from any vehicle, will fit into any vehicle.

I'd like to see it in a yugo, that's be a sweet ride
will it fit without minumal modification, everything I've seen say that the BII tranny is about 2 inches shorter, is that the only difference?
