Problems with the Forum

Post by Nobody »

As some of you probably figured out, we're having some major problems with the database. I think the bad hard drive caused more problems than I thought. A full rebuild of the server may be in order

Any FreeBSD/MySQL nerds lurking?

yes, some of the recent posts, private messages, etc. have been lost because they were in corrupt areas of the database.

FYI, server was down all day saturday because I was upgrading the server operating system. Hopefully the upgrade fixed whatever was causing the server to crash.

Does this explain why I was getting messages via email telling me someone had replied to a thread I posted in, and when I follow the link I get a message saying" the thread you specified does not exist" ?

Yes, was having some database problems last week which would have caused that. Seem to have the database corruption problems ironed out now.
