Post by bones101 »

Have any of you bought the grille guard from JC WHITNEY?
HERE IS THE LINK

I'm thinking about buying it but I'm not sure if its worth it. I'm hoping one of you may have purchased one. Any suggestions?

I've got one of these on my B2 and love it. It is very well built and really looks nice and it comes with mounts for lights. I would recommend it.

The only thing im worried about is that is wont be hooked to the chasis. I see that it only hooks to the bumper and im not sure if it will be all that stong. I think im gona go with it though OR i might just make my own.

Most brush guards are ment to be a Attractive addition to you rig. not ment to be abused to much. The Smittybuilt bumpers that I bought provide sufficent grill protection and you can ram them into anything.(just about  ) If you are to spend the money that would be the way to go.

BTW the tube bumper with light looks pretty mean in the rearview mirror. :redneck:

Actually the guard bolts to the frame. The bolts run through the bumper and attach the the ends of the frame. I used 4 grade 8's to hold it down and it will take lots of abuse. I know from experience
