How high?

Post by greenmachine89 »

I thought I would ask about how high I should lift my B2 on here because I know I will get straight forward answers. I am stuck between getting a 4, 6, or 8 inch lift. I have a 1989 B2 Stock lift and running gear with 15X8 Rear drive wheels along with 33/12.50-15 Wild Country CPR mudders. I have cut the fenders greatly and fit 33's just fine. Now I am stuck on if I should go with only 4 to fit the 33's better or 6 to fit 35's or even bigger of 8 to fit 37/14.50-15 Toyo MT's. I love having wide tires so the wider the better same goes for height. I've had a f-100 with big tires and would love to have B2 with large tires. Any input would be greatly appreciated! I also know about the roll over issue that B2 have which I have kept in mind. I am also thinking of dual shocks front and rear, to help with the body roll. :redneck:

My philosophy has always been as low as possible, as high as necessary.

That said, you're looking at driveshaft mods if you go over 4". I wouldn't go over 33's on stock axles, so 4" would due just fine since you have cut fenders.

Of course I always suggest a solid axle swap. Depending on how resourceful you are, you can come out way ahead.

I forgot to mention that when I do lift it, I will be swaping in a D35 front and 8.8 rear, I do know that both those axles can handle larger tires than stock. I to believe in the low high theory. That is why I am still stock but have 33 inch tires. :D
