rear hatch fix

does anyone have a good fix for the busted rear hatch from the weight of the tire carrier that might be permanent

I have seen some people take a small piece of aluminum diamond plate and rivit it to the door skin over the damaged area and bolt to the diamond plate as necessary.

You might get some 2 ton expoy and try to fill the crack in it with that stuff, or if the mount busted off, epoxy the mount back on. That should work since the rear gate is fiberglass. Mine is cracked, but not badly. If it breaks again, just get a new one. Or epoxy it back together again and build a tire carrier that doesn't latch to the fiberglass gate.
