What the H*ll is this thing?

Ok, I'm trying to find out what this parts is that had the wires disconnected in my B2. It is a small gray plastic box containing a circuit board mounted directly under the ashtray. It has a 7 prong plug with 4 on the bottom row and three on the top. The number ot the front of this box is E9EB-10D840-AA. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the factory sound system but at any rate I hate having something unpluggged and not know what it is.

Found out that when you plug the harness up to this box you get the stupid dinging bell with the key in or door opened. Don't know what other purpose it serves.
