Here are a few tricks and tips I've learned over the years:To find half of a fraction just double the bottom number.ie half of 5/8 is 5/16.To find the right drill to use before tapping a hole look up tap drill chart on the net. The size of a bolt is the diameter of the thread, not the size of wrench that fits it.

A little of the wife's finger nail polish works great as thread locker too! Just put a little duct tape over the bottle so the guys don't ask too many questions. ;)

This is kind of a reverse tek tip.

I found something in the shop I use all the time that saved the day when I was finishing building my last computer.I was ready to install the Cpu and needed some heat-sink compound. I thought anti seize lube would do the job. I did a bit of research and found it works better than the cheap commercial heat sink compounds i use in everyday electronics. Just one thing. Be careful because that stuff can get messy. Use sparingly.
