My $200 B2

Post by Lance Skene »

A guy I know bought this B2 for $100 at auction, I offered to double his money and pulled it home about 20km. After ripping out the interior to vacumn out all the mouse sht and throwing in a battery I drove it for a year before doing anything to it. Been slowly updating all the electrical and added the roof rack, hidden hitch, wheels from a '94 ranger 4x4.

this is probably about a year or two after I bought it

roof liner was trashed by mice so that was the first thing replaced

With the recent duraspark conversion parts added in I now have a total investment of about $3000 over the past four years, which includes the two parts trucks.

It doesnt really look like a $3k truck but it does run like one. Most every major electrical component has now been replaced except the starter. Wheels and tires have been replaced, brakes have been done, I built the roof rack which holds the spare tire, jack-all, shovel, and the off road lights, I replaced the oem seal beams with halogen 'eurolites', I added the hidden hitch on the back and tow hooks under the front bumper.

All things considered I feel pretty good about my investment, now that its mechanically sound I can start on cosmetic issues, next summer I'll start tearing down the parts trucks and swapping over some bodywork, one the parts trucks has a 2" lift I want to swap over also. Up to this point I havent really concerned myself with how the truck looks but the rust is getting pretty bad so its time to do something about it.
