long day, long story. I wish I would have remembered my chainsaw, but thanks to Greg and Bill for bringing up a chainsaw at about 3pm. Started the trail at about 8:30am and got out at about 6pm and got about 3 miles in and back. Josh is now "hatchet man" since all we had was his Gerber hatchet DOH

It was a great time heading up, tons of fresh snow as low as I had ever seen it. Fresh powder and no one else up there yet!
I did not get to many pictures of Josh but his wife did.

Then it was time to go, not bad for the first 1/4 mile or so and then we came to this tree and all we had was this Gerber "axe" as they call it but I say it's a hatchet Image

The tree was about half down the hill so pulling it was out. We cut with the hatchet until we could squeeze under it and got about 100 yards further before we found another and it was that way the entire way out. We pulled what we could, drove over or thru what we could and cut what we had to. I took pictures for a bit then the 2 min per tree was no longer worth the time.
Eventually we met up with Bill and Greg who were sawing trees to get up to us. We would have driven out but it would have been much later before we got out.
Moral of the story bring a chainsaw and be nice to your wheeling buddies or they may leave you up there!

That will be a nice memorable trip. At least everyone made it out safe.

I remember on time on pilchuck there was mud slide across the road. I was the first one to cut a path across it. That was fun. Then finally a few hours later another rig showed up at the top.
