Snow today

Post by EBSTEVE »

Josh and I went up in the snow to do a bit of playing around. A few miles up the trail Josh had a belt squeal, turns out the alternator was a bit loose and that the bolts holding the case together were backing out so it was actually coming apart! It was charging so we snugged the belt and the case bolts and went on the way.
I ended up spitting out the sector shaft snap ring, seal and backer losing my power steering. Since I have hydro boost brakes I ended up having to dump the power feed to the box back to the pump to have brakes but I drove it out and home about 40-45 miles with the Armstrong ® steering.
All in all a decent day.

Looks like good snow. How far you have to go? I wonder who rebuilt that box? I make sure not to use him. :finger:

We went up North out of Sedro.
Yes I did rebuild the box.
I don't know why the box would spit the snap ring allowing the rest to come out, I am 100% certain it was 100% seated. I am going to stuff a new sector shaft seal kit in the box and try it again.

3 pictures??? Looks like there was a fair amount of snow. This morning the snow line is way down on the hills.

I was busy driving so I only took a few pictures, the snow level looked bad on the way up but there was plenty to have a good time.
