May be outta place here...but: I have several friends that are under age 30 and in talking to them I have found that the majority of them back Kerry. On the other hand....those that are above the age of 30 tend to back Bush. Iam curious about this. I am 47 and I think most know who I will cast my vote for.I do know that a lot of people that post here seem to be younger. Can someone explain why Kerry seems to appeal to the younger voters(?)?

I don't see that here, but I can say that bush will probably win KY. but that still dosent stop me from going to vote for kerry. I love it when election time comes around, debates to me are interesting. I personaly like kerry because he stands for some of the same things I do: he's pro choice, and I think he has a realistic view on the economy. the war in Iraq has some weight on my vote but not as much. lets face it we are already there and we need to finish it reguardless of who started it. I support our troops 100%, and belive that we have the best and the brightest. but in this country we have a thing called due process. and if I was accused of a crime I would want that system to protect me. I just think that if we would have investigated the intelegence a little more and gave the UN insectors a little more time we would have been more justified in the invasion. I am not saying we went in alone, but I think if we would have prepaired the argument better more of the countries that backed away from the war would have more helpful. I think a better argument for the invasion would have been the fact that they have been shooting at us since desert storm when doing patrols over the no fly zones, but no one brought that up? if I were in charge desert storm would have never ended because I would have viewed that as an act of hostility and ended it there when we already had them down. I think that the world is a better place now, I just think their was a better way to do it.

I think most educators are Democrats and that is the reason young folks tend to vote that way. As folks get older and perhaps more jaded then they turn away from that. This is a result of past policy of Democrats cutting defense to send more funds to education.

The Democrats have major issues with us Off-Roaders. They want us gone. They support junker laws, closing public land, closing roads, block all plans for new power plants, block all plans for developing our natural resorces, and do all this with no real solutions for our problems. You haven't seen millions of acres of public lands with rich shale made into National Monuments by Republican's. Or the management plans with closures that go with it. This has been called part of the left wing lunacy.

Now I ain't saying the Republicans are angels or anything close to it. I vote for who ever has the best chance to kick the Democrats butt. My way of thinking is a vote for a Democrat or someone who has no chance of beating a Democrat is a vote to end our sport.

Exactly. Im not republican or Democrat. I vote what I feel I should vote. I cannot trust anyone who changes their mind over and over and wont tell the truth. At least Bush stands by his decisions and sticks to his guns. I think alot of bad will begin if Kerry gets into office.

Just my $.02 worth oh ya I am over 30 :D

I think they are both dumb asses but im going to vote for bush because he will get us threw the war. As for pro choice and gay marrage i hate bushes point of view on that and i was (even though im a rublican) going to vote democrap this year befor retard showed up for that reason. The democraps should have won this year with out any problems but they had to go out and find the most unqulified person to run. Bush had so many people against him its not even funny! But now things are all even. This is off topic some lady came into my work (gas station costco) and said that bush was the reason why the prices was so high and that we need kerry in there but she wasnt to happy when i told her that kerry voted to raise the taxes by 50 cents! some people really need to look at who they are voting for befor opening there moths! i like facts not opion! The democraps are a die party with so much intrnal fighting that they are eather going to realize that they are doomed and shape up or just die off then we will get the green party and all you wheelers think the demo's are bad wait till the green party shows up we wont even be able to whipe ar ass any more! What i really want is CA to go to bush that will be a real slap in the face to make people realize whats going on.

well, I don't think that any person running will completely 100% satisfy even one person. I think every person has their flaws. Kerry is not perfact and niether is Bush. but Kerry more fits me and what I would like to see happen. honestly, I don't really think that it will matter which person gets elected when it comes to the war in Iraq. lets face it, we are already there and I think every person could agree that once we jump you cant get back into the plane. we need to finish what we start and I realy think that every american will tell you that. the only thing I will say about this is, if bush knew he was going to be questioned about his reasoning he should have came up with more convincing educated reasoning instead of manipulated intelegence that would be disproved when the smoke cleared. lets face it, saddam was a bad person, a bad leader, and violated what I think is everyones natural right to live and be happy. everyone knew he should be taken out of power but Bush used a reason of terrism. this was a good reason to go into afganistan not Iraq. the other thing I am not likeing about bush is during the debates, Bush would not respond with any justification as to why he sent afgan war lords into the mountains after osama binladin when the best and the brightest were waiting for orders. also at the second debate on the last question he wouldn't answer it, like he was afraid to show people that he was human. I mean he could have at least gave some minor things he made decisions on that were wrong. I know that what I just said will make alot of peple mad, but it is just my opinion and I am not making an attempt to step on anyone. politics is one of the easiest ways to make people mad at each other so if my statements offend anyone sorry, but they are my opinion.

Hey guys. My I say thank you for keeping this thread civil. I think that it is cool that we can discuss our opinions and views without getting mad at each other and acting like a bunch of little kids. The world could use a little more of this kind of respect for each other.

Very true. I also think that it also show the quality of character that the people on this board have.

I can think of a hell of a lot more reasons not to vote for kerry than I can for Bush.

First and foremost, the Swift Boat Veterans say Kerry is unfit for command. As a Veteran, that's good enough for me. Kerry's actions when he returned from "4 MONTHS" in country are inexcuseable. His actions in country and when he returned are a clear indication of his character. Kerry based his campaign on his Vietnam experience(4 months), yet refuses to come clean with his records. My dad spent "2 YEARS" in Vietnam, and was spit on and disrespected when came home because of people like kerry.

On Iraq, sure kerry would have to finish the job there. But that's where he would stop. He wouldn't persue the war on terrorism, as that would be unpopular. Remember 9-11.

Kerry is a hard core liberal. He's an extremist. The problem with these folks is they are idealists. Sure some of their idea's sound great, if it were a perfect world. In reality, the extreme environmental, minimum wage, and labor laws are pushing companies over seas. Companies should be encouraged to be environmentally aware, and provide fair wages from tax incentives, not driven out business.

The first thing kerry said he was going to do is roll back the tax cuts for those that make over 200K. Let the rich pay. Sounds great. However in reality, those tax increases just get passed on to you the consumer. He would rather fund government run socialist type programs than help small business.

Kerry wants to give everyone free health care. Sounds great, guess who gets to pay for it..... I don't care for government healthcare. I'd much rather support businesses that will provide jobs and pay for our healthcare vs taxing the shit out of businesses so there will be less jobs, and government can pay for healthcare.

Social security is broke. Kerry wants to keep it that way.

Kerry said he's going to let illegals that have jobs and have stayed out of trouble become citizens. Bullshit! They can go get in line.

On issues such as abortion, and stem cell research those are small potatoes. I support both of these, and if you'll take notice, abortion is still legal, and stem cell research is still being done.

I'm an independant, and I hate the 2 party system, currently the republican party makes more sense to me.
