A friend of mine had his track bar mount brake on him and he had DW at 30 MPH and it did not steer very good had to turn the wheel about 3/4 before the tires would turn. I would say that runing with out one would be Bad.

:laugh: i second that it was 102* and smoggy yesterday and they had us running in that crap. today its 104* and humid so they had the red flag up. go figure 102* no wind dry as hell and they have us running but put the red flag up when it's 104* with cool breeze and some moisture in the air :hmmm:

well that is the weak point in the SAS, the tracbar mount. if you could figure out a way to eliminate it all together then you could get rid of the weak point in the setup. do you think by running some kind of brace between the axle and the radius arm or between the radius arms you could get rid of it all together, and keep the front end in check?

I don't think it's a weak point at all. Mine hasn't broke. If fact it's been trouble free. If you brace the mount to the engine crossmember, then you have nothing to worry about.

The only way to eliminate the trac bar is to add links. In which case you might as well do a complete custom 4link....... But in my opinion a 2 link with trac bar(3 link) is better anyway.

I see your point. have y'all ever seen the front mounted shock that has the trac mount on the same bracket? do you think that might make it better/worse?

I love the three link way more then the 4 links because there is no cross stress on the bars were the three link has derect stress.

i've seen 4 link set up's with trac bar's. for instance the orange toyota in the TTChallenge a couple of year's ago. i agree that a 3 link system would be better. maybe some day when i get better at math and more money i'll attempt it. :D

well not the typical kind, he made some funky A frame slip mount deal.
