Wanted: Camedia Master 2.5

Post by Nobody »

Anyone out there have an Olympus digital camera that came with the Camedia Master 2.5 software? Would have been from the ~2001 time frame.

Yeah, I saw that. Those are just the updates for the program, which is what I am ultimately after, but I still need the original install first. I have version 2.01, but it's not fully XP compatible.

My camera is the C-3030. It's been an awesome camera, but unfortunately, you need the software to change some of the settings on the camera, including the date!

If you have 2.01 can you update it to the Camedia Master 2.5? Here is the page I found http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/Win_XP.pdf and the link that is the "Windows XP Compatibility"
http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/cm251_update.exe

But to be honest, your the nerd :finger:

Go to the Russian download site to get a free copy of the Camedia 2.5 software from (you do read Russian don't you? if not click on the blue Russian text)

http://www.nix.ru/download_from_ftp_ext.html?id=4303

The software is stored in a RAR file type (like a zip file but different)... so you will need WinAce (or similar) to extract the files... a free version of WinAce extractor can be found at:

http://www.winace.com/files/xace26.exe

Use the WinAce software to extract the .rar file into a set of files in a folder somewhere on your desktop. Then go into that folder and run the Setup.exe file. When that finishes, you will have Camedia 2.5 installed. Since you're running XP, you will want to also run the 2.5.1 update available from the olympus site

Hopefully that's all the infomation you need or your on your own. Please don't tell anyone that I read Russian I already get enough crap about the "normal" stuff I do.

Gimme a break, some of us work for a living.

It appears to have worked! Not real crazy about where it came from, but it will work. Seems the same as 2.01 though, so I'm not sure what changed.
