My Exciting Day

Post by Nobody »

Took the family to Arby's for lunch. While we were ordering there was this punk kid talking to his girlfriend behind the counter.

Then as we get our food, he's talking obnoxiously on his cell phone. So what ever, annoying, but I'll live.

Now.... I hate cell phones. I hate punk kids that think they are bad asses, and most of all, I hate people that are disrespectful to the people around them.

Next thing I know this guy makes another call, then proceeds to say FU, F that etc while walking around the tables. So I tell him watch his mouth from across the restaurant....well he walks over to the hall by the bathrooms and continues is conversation in the same manner.

So me being the concerned citizen that I am....get up and B-line right for him. He sees me coming and heads for the bathroom. Now I could have dropped it there, but I was in a mood, so flung the door open and asked what his problem is, and told him he needs to leave. He didn't like that very much and started running his mouth at me, and kinda pushing me a little bit as I start to escort him to the door...... about that time another customer came over to break up it up and gets between us. Just then he spits on me over the the other customers shoulder.

His gf who is appearantly the assistant manager finally comes out and tells me to leave! ......HA! I told her I'll leave after I'm done eating....and told her again that her bf needs to leave.

The punk at this time is begging me to go outside with him and finish the job. I thought about it, but knew it really wasn't going to be worth it, as I embarrassed my wife enough. So I went back to my table to finish eating.

Mean while the gf calls the cops on me......and 3 other customers call the cops on fag outside making all kinds of gestures at me through the window.

While we wait for the cops, he came back inside, where I promptly instructed him to leave..... which he did, and went back to making gestures outside the window.

So then about 4 cops show up and throw him in the back seat, then come and get a statement from me and the other customers...who all backed me up! :tongue2: Then the cop asked if I want to press charges  I said no, as I already made my point, and I hope he'll think twice next time before running his mouth around others.

Now there's no doubt that the guy was waiting for me to leave with my wife and 9 month old daughter...in which case I'm sure he was going to assault me again. Now I might be a fat old "has been", but I guarantee that guy would have found a little "still is" left in me if he messed with my family. He's lucky I didn't let him have it after he spit on me.

Best of all, the other customers came over and thanked me for doing something :D

ahhhh.....that was fun :redneck:

Being spit on is a form of assault now a days. I would have sent him to jail.

Wife and kid, there is to much to lose if you was to beat him down anyways.

Besides Matt, there is a lot to be said for when ya get older ya get wiser and experience counts for somethin. And remember it takes longer to recover from the same blows ya yousta take when you were a kid. ;)

I would have sent him to jail...then asked the cops to talk to the manager that tried to kick you out. you could call corp. on the store and they might take action on her for disrespecting her customers. you could even get a copy of the police report and mail it to them for proof

good job though, not many people will stand up and say anything to people like that. I never understood why people do that kind of thing in public...as wild as I was in high school and my early years in collage I wasn't that bad.

Ohh, as I was leaving, the cop was talking to the manager chick. I heard him saying that he has a whole list of customers that say it didn't happen like that.

I think I might try to send a note to the Arby's franchise owner. The more I think about it, one of the staff should have asked him to go outside long before I did, especially since he wasn't a customer....he was just in there hanging out. Then to insist that I leave....HA!

That punk could have easily apologized and went outside to finish his call. he didn't have to take it to the next level.

The other funny thing....when the cop came over to talk to me, half the staff came out to clean tables and vacuum.

I would probably avoid that arby's for a while...if you like clean food anyway...

she will be lucky if she doesn't get into trouble for lieing to a cop...isn't that a crime?

if you go to the top of the food chain she might be looking for another job. I know if I cought one of my employees doing that in front of a customer there would be nothing left to say other then hit the door.

There is always the fact that the manager was trying to make you, the customer, leave with your wife and young daughter, putting your family into danger. I would defiantly contact the corporate office and the franchise owner.
I also would have pressed charges (although he probably would have too after he spit on me I doubt I could hold back). Think about the diseases possibility that can be spread by bodily fluid, I would contact the prosecutor or police and go to the Dr. and get tested.
Pain and suffering might not be in order but medical bills and say maybe a years probation and anger management classes might teach him the respect that his parents did not :)

The more I think about it, I probably should have pressed charges. I asked the cop what would happen, and he just shrugged his shoulders. I figured it probably wasn't worth dragging out into the courts. I also figured I could have approached him a little more tactfully....but I shouldn't have had to do it in the first place.

I'm not worried about diseases. He really didn't get me that good. Mostly just misted me.

Kicking his ass or not was a decision I had to make pretty quick. If I went for it, I really had nothing to gain, and I'd probably be payin some hefty medical bills.....either his or mine. By not kicking his ass, he gets to tell his friends that I was pussy. Plus... by my luck he would have turned out to be a minor....but I think he was in his early 20's for sure.... he was also about 6'4" and about 160lbs and his pant were around his knees.

Anyway... I sent off this little note to Arby's customer service.
My family is a regular customer of the Mount Vernon, WA Arby's.

On Saturday 2/04/2006 my wife, daughter and myself went to the Mount Vernon Arby's for a late lunch. While we ordered and waited for our food, there was another man there who was a friend of the Assistant Manager. He did not appear to be a customer, and he was making a number of loud cell phone calls and continued to socialize with the assistant manager.

After my family got our food, this man proceeded to make another loud phone call, where he was cursing loudly while walking around the dinning area… F- you , F-you, F-you. I advised him watch his mouth as there were a number of other families with children present. The man disregarded my warning, and continued his phone call in this loud belligerent manner. No one from the Arby’s staff asked the man to leave.

At this point I got up from my table to confront the man and advised that he leave. The man became very combative, pushed me a number of times, pushed my face, and then SPIT in my face. At this point the Arby’s assistant manager came out, and asked that "I" leave. I refused to do so, as that was a completely inappropriate demand. She then called the police to have me removed. At least three other customers called the police because I had been ASSAULTED.

The man that assaulted me continued to threaten me from outside and make obscene gestures through the window that all the other customers could see. He even returned into the restaurant to make more threats and obscene gestures.

The police arrived and took statements from myself and other customers whom defended my actions. Many of the other customers even came over to my table to thank me.

I would like Arby’s and the local Arby’s Franchise owner to be aware of this situation. If you need a copy of the police report, please contact the Mount Vernon, WA. Police Department.

Hey Mat,

You made the right decision. Sometimes we (Old Fat Bastards) get drawn into situations we didn't ask for.

I think I would have Kicked his ass or made him wish he never met me. I may be old, fat, and in a wheelchair but I have my ways and methods. Kneecap Job is nice. I am so tired of manner less people. Rude Cell phone operators and punks with their pants around their knees thinking they is the Man...

My problem is when I have to deal with rude ignorant punks. The only thing that has saved me is my ol lady. She has been around me for 30 years and knows me all too well. If it weren’t for her actions, I would have gotten in trouble more than I did. (Nuff said bout that). Ask me sometime in private about the NW auto wrecking incident. It's actually funny now days.

I think you are handling it perfectly. I don't wanna waste time in the court system. I would rather find other ways to let them know they have done wrong. The letter is great! She probably won't be manager for long. Big companies don't like this type of behavior from their employees. They know there is plenty more people that could fill that position.

Ya ought ta make a drive in foray and see if she is still there.

Damn ive been away a couple of days and now Matt is an old fat guy?

Good job. Kicking his ass wouldnt have helped for the cops. Doing it the way you did was the right way. Even though you think like me and want to beat them instead.
