go to autozone and have them run the codes for you they will do it for free. that will point you in the right direction.

it could be fuel related or it could be ignition.... i would check the fuel pressure and make sure it's not the pump or filter.... it seems pressure regulators are prone to failure also... if fuel system checks out ok, i would give it a complete tuneup including cap and rotor.... is the check engine light coming on?

Airbox

Post by B2JAY »

You mentioned you played in the mudd? Take your airbox apart completely and clean like new also check throttlebody and sensor. Might want to also clean them out as well. Change air filter, check plugs and wires and cap and rotor.

02 sensors also. I think the replacement interval is about 90,000 miles.

does it lose power when you really press down the gas pedal? If so, It could be that your fuel pressure regulator is spraying fuel into the intake manifold. Mine did that.

it sounds to me like you have a bad coolent temp sensor, but like I said untill you pull codes you will have no direction as to what you are replacing.
