1984 Bronco II Flywheel

Post by BroncoPT »

I'm in need of some advice. I've been struggling for years to get my 1984 manual Bronco II to start properly. It keeps grinding down the flywheel gear ring. I keep buying new ones as several attempts with new starter engines/solenoids have made no difference. Have tried spacers/shims but again no luck. I've even attempted to machine the flywheel as it was warped, still no luck. I can't seem to find a new flywheel for the 1984 Bronco II anywhere online. It seems to be the only thing I can change that hasn't yet been addressed. Any ideas how to solve this issue overall and where can I find a new flywheel? Need to have it shipped to Lisbon, Portugal. Any advice welcome!!

The 2.8L CARB.
Does the 2.9L flywheel bolt up to the 2.8L?
There was 2 trannys, the TOYO and the MISUBISHI.
Maybe check to see if you got the right flywheel.

I see that rockauto has shims.
Maybe for the 2.9l flywheel?
I do see that rockauto has a flywheel for a 85 B2 with a 2.8L.
