84 Bronco II remove all pollution junk

Hi Bronco's
I need some advise , got a 1984 Bronco II Auto 2.8L V6
I've removed the air pump and some of the pollution gear, truck currently will not run more that 10 minutes.
The original carburetor has allot of vacuum connections and I was thinking of replacing it with a Holley 744 , Is this recommended ? (what model of Holley is recommended ?)
The original ignition distributor also has a number of connections that are now inactive , I was thinking of replacing it too , with a Duraspark , is this recommended ? if so what model of Duraspark ? and can I use the original distributor cap and sparkplug leads ?
Also who is the recommended supplier of a new carburetor and new Ignition in Canada ?
Thanks, Don
