Axel swap and gear ratio

I am looking into swaping my runni gear to the explored dana 35 and 8.8. Does anyone have a recomendation on what year to go with and what gear ratio to use?

Depends on tire size, I'm doing this same swap and going with 4:10 for 33" tires.

The Dana 35 came in 91 to 94 explorers. It takes a bit of modification to get an explorer 8.8 into a Bronco II like moving the spring perches, so for now I'm building up the 7.5

Oh by the way if your lift kit uses drop down brackets in the front to drop the stock brackets down instead of replacing the entire bracket, it will punch a hole in the D35 casing if you come down hard on it, seen this happen lots
