In Tank Pumps '84 vs '90

Post by Dreded »

Ok so I FINALLY have the money to finish my second 5.0L BII install and I have a carbed 5.0 in a '90 bII FRAME/body was wondering if anyone knew if the Sending unit/fuel pump for a '84 would fit the '90 fuel tank so I can just change the in tank pump to the one designed for a carb

My other thought was using the econoline mechanical pump and hollowing out the in tank pump so it could pump through it

Or what did you do to solve this problem?

I would just pull the pump off the in tank unit and put i piece of fuel line with a pickup screen on the metal tube. that way you still have the sending unit.
