auto tranny help?!?!

Ok heres the tale of the take i have an 88 b2 4x4, 2.9, auto trans, manual shift t-case, and manual lock out hubs.(all stock and hasnt been moved started or even climbed in for about 10 years) Now for my big question what tranny can i put in place of this boat anchor? Im tryin to go cheap so as close to straight swap in the better. Im wantin to stick with the auto because when my daughter gets a little older im goin to let her mud it. O and yea this thing will never be a daily driver so can any one help me out with the half door thing? That look bad and i think it would make this little b2 look good after i get the nerve to chop the top. Any help would be awesome and thanks in advance
