loud rearend noise

have a 88 brono ii everytime turn right, a hard right, at about 20mph theres a pop in the rear end. it usually pops about 3 times. any ideas?

is it only on right turns or does it do it on left turns also. a locker rearend will do this but will do it on right and left turns. get in a big lot and make a couple of circles both right and left and see if it does both ways.

Are you sure it's coming from the rear end and not the front end?

im pretty possative its in the rear end. it only does it som of the time. is there any chance it could be rocks poping out from under the tires?

yes the popping is comin from the rear end

Have you pulled off the wheel and inspected your brakes, may be locking up, perhaps pull off the hub and pull the axle, (don't forget the C-clip) inspect the bearings. A worn spider gear or pinion will also factor into the problem.

problem solved just changed the fluid and it went away hopefully it woncome back

rear diff. put in valvoline 80w90. is this a good gear oil or what do yall recomand what weight?

also just another thought if someone could help me out. i think my fuel gauge is goin out or the sending unit is. according to the odometer and the fuel gauge im only getting about 176 miles per tank. about how many miles per tank do ya'll get?

ok.....cause I think I'm having this same problem on this BII I picked up. I've been replacing fluid and gaskets in the engine so I need to add this to my list of things to do before I get her back on the road...

Thanks for the tip....and not sure on the gas mileage. BII has been parked for a while now.

yea when changed the fluid it was a dark dark brown with some sludge in it
