rear axle seals

everything is off around the axle but the axle wont budge. any suggestions of how I might get the axle out w/o doing damage;. I have Detroit lockers in the rear if that helps. she is a 70' bronco,

A '70 bronco has a 9" rear end, no c-clips.( dave you know that :rolleyes2: ) Use a slide hammer after you remove the four bolts behide the drum. I used a piece of threaded rod (allthread?) with a large washer and nut through the hole on the axle, and a picce of smal pipe with two railroad spikes welded on it. see crude picture. I hope this helps, Oh you'll need ice for your hand after, I suggust cold beer.

I have just wrapped a chain around the axle and used it like a slide hammer
