valve timing

Post by joeyy »

I got some pretty bad valve clicking coming from my engine ('87 Bii 2.9L) i want to take off the valve covers and check the push rods and any other part of the valves or anything i can easily get too while I'm at it. My question is, if I take off the rocker arms to take out the puch rods, do I have to retime the engine?
