1986 Bronco II, speed control

Post by 303lithgow »

Anyone know about speed controls? Mine doesn't work. When I bought the Bronco last Friday it didn't work, or the emergency flashers or the brake lights. I replaced on fuze which all three of these items are on and only the brake lights and emergency flasher work.

I've got an 86 also and the cruise control doesn’t work either. the fuse is different on mine. not connected to anything else. Tried to trouble shoot it today but came up empty handed. I’m under the impression that it has a bad coil in the unit. I have power to it but it won’t energize. I'll do more research and let you know what and if I find anything.

I was headed to the JY today for some therapy & to see about a controller for the CC and as I was going down the highway I thought I'd try the CC. Well it worked. :D Shocked the S out ‘a me. I figure that it must a been a bad electrical connection. As I said yesterday I had power to the unit but nothing to the coil. You might try to unplug it and clean the connections. Sorry I can’t do any better.

Where did you disconnect it? At the control switch or at the engine and where if at the engine?

Okay I see that. When you turn on the speed control is there a light somewhere on the dash?
