I was hopping the carb in my '84 B2 would last me the winter, but unfortunatly it hasn't. What would be the best replacment (stock or upgrade)?

if no motor or exhaust upgrade i'd stay stock. have you priced them ? 3 to 4 hundred easily, i'd rebuild.cost me 2 to have mine done some place in fla. took 1 week and lifetime gaurantee.

I plan on putting in a cat-back exhaust.

Keep the stock carb. The 2150 is arguably the best 2 bbl made. Get it rebuilt or do it yourself. I'll sell you one that works extremely well for $1100 (rustless BII included)
