I think tek noticed the fuel line in his post. I came into the same situation when I replaced the engine in the vw van, I had gas running down my arm and pooling on the floor and all I could think of is what could make a spark? The compressor! So I rolled over on the air ratchet and dam near shit myself. Anyway my F/N Chevy drank a whole bunch of coolant on Friday so I did a compression test and things came out well. My Father thinks it got air locked and chucked out the anti-freeze. I know this isn't the place to talk about a Chev but with no steam and the oil looking good I'm a little lost, as this is my daily driver. -Jeff

Yep The line damage had been noted! We have all new fuel lines and brake lines that will be going in.We had to plan new brake lines because we are installing power brakes in this project.
I have some more pics to add to page 5 and as soon as I extract them from my phone you can see some more completed items.

Were setting on all four right now and are still waiting on some brake parts. It will go on the lift next for frame connectors and rear gear change.

hey newtobII's.

if i were you id look into getting a junk 91-94 explorer and swapping the axles over, and then maby even gears before going to 35"s and buying a lift if you want it to last long at all... just my .02

i have an 87 2.9 also, and with 33"s it spit the splines from the rear ring gear through the diff cover... so i grabbed an explorer rear axle and swapped it over. super easy. and im going to swap over the front axle from the xploder after i finish with my transmission. then im looking into 4.56 gears for both. just to get the most out of my 2.9L...

your truck looks cool though! haha i love the light rack. it almost looks like one of the backwoods racers that we see around here.

I MAY END UP GOING THAT ROUTE, NOT REAL SURE WHAT IM GONNA DO. I KINDA HAD PLANS TO DO A FULL SIZE SWAP ON IT AFTER I COMPLETELY DESTROY THESE. BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT THE WOMAN WHO KEEPS ME HAPPY IS GONNA SAY LOL. IVE ALWAYS BEEN A FULL SIZE GUY, THIS IS MY FIST "MINI" TRAIL RIG BUT IT WAS GETTING REALLY EXPENSIVE TO WHEEL THE SUPER DUTY.

KEEP IT BETWEEN THE TREES!

Good thing I ask, you want the rear leaf spring shackles with that too?
I am going to take the spring buckets and some other junk off this week, so I'll get the spring hangers off at the same time. I'll let you know when they are down.
