1989 Bronco 2 Shift Motor

I am replacing my Shift motor but there is a "plug" or something going right into the transfer case, looks like a wire that has a plug end that comes from the shift motor itself. I am looking to replace this myself and if anyone can help me with some instructions on how to go about this Id appreciate it.
