Arizona emissions failure

Post by billybodank »

I just bought a 1986 bronco II, I took it to the emissions, trying to register it. The lady I got the truck from said it had be sitting for three to four months. The loaded test passed way below, the idle test however was 2 -3 timesthe limit. Where do I begin?

If its been sitting 2or3 months fill the tank up with fresh gas and use gumout injector cleaner run one tank then fill up again. also you may want to replace plugs cap and rotor and check the timing. and some tb cleaner like gumout or another brand wouldnt hurt.

forgot to mention if you can get as much of the old gas out as possible before useing fresh gas. Also get a new air filter and fuel filter.

I ran all the old gas, and filled it with premium unleaded with a bottle of Lucas injector cleaner.
I guess I'll refill the tank and try again tomorrow. Thanks
