Would that require one of those Co2 air up cans? All I carry is one of those little plug in compressors, and there ain`t no way that`ll seat a bead! :D

On-board air. I converted an air conditioning pump into an air compressor. It was one of my first mods, and still remains among one of my favorites. I've saved dozens of people with it over the years.

You could seat a bead with one of those C02 power tanks, but thats not the route I recommend. Who wants to buy an expensive bottle and regulators, then pay to fill it up frequently, only to run out of C02 when you need it most.

I just got my OBA hooked up last night after being without it all summer. I had to find new brackets that were compatible with my saginaw power steering pump.

so lets see it!

seating a bead is all about air volume if you put a larger tank on you can do it. you got to remeber that you are only seating one and the other is still set. if you cant get it pull the valve core. besides if you do get in a pinch just wrap a chain around the tread of the tire and squeeze the center of the tread, then shoot the air in. if all of that does not work spray either in the tire around the bead hold your head out of the way and light the either on fire it will set the bead.

I've done the starter fluid trick a few times :devil:

Check out the sweet little powersteering cooler I found.

is that the ARB air compressor?
did you make the air tank?
how much does the powersteering cooler help?

hey that look's like my P.S. cooler. i like the way you mounted it.
i was looking for a place to mount mine over the weekend while i re-position the tranny cooler so i could get more air flow to my radiator. what happened to the fire extinguisher?

This is new to you?

The ARB compressor is a POS electric thing. Takes about a year to air up one tire.....literally 20 minutes.

My A/C pumps air my 36's from 5 PSI to 25psi in a minute at idle. If I kick up the rpm, it's really fast. We're talkin air tools, no problem.

The tank I built last year out of some box tube. I figured it for about 2.5 Gal. About the same as the fire extinguisher. I can drill and tap as many ports as I need. Fire extinguisher worked great, but took up too much space in the engine compartment, and I couldn't attach all the stuff I needed to.

The compressor I just installed is the most popular YORK. The york is popular because it has a crankcase for oil, where as the rotory style are lubed via the freeon. I ran the hell out of my rotory pumps with no problems. I wouldn't hesistate to run whatever bolts up.

no, I set up the A/C on the 4.0L but I havent seen that compressor. I didn't think that a factory 302 a/c set up looked like that. I still have the fire extinguisher tank but it does ok, for what I use it for.

so what about the PS setup? that I haven't seen.
