2.3L diesel?

Post by PKAdetroitWLZ »

I heard they made a 2.3L diesel for the 85 or 86
can anyone tell me if this is true and if so...
how did they handle? and are they EFI ?

I might be in the market for a new engine this winter
and, which year did they switch to the 2.9 (gas, of course)?

cheers

the 2.3 was never put in the BII, unless someone did it after it left the factory. the first year for the 2.9L was 86. if you are going to do the motor swap you need to find out what tranny you are running. if it is an 84-85 auto you might have the C5 which will work with a 302. if it is an 86 or newer then the 4.0L is the best option.
