does the 4.0 when installing the old 2.9 liters mazda 5 speed need the shim plate from the 2.9 liter....... i assume it does becasue my starter is dragging..... amybe one of you guys who did the 4.0 swap would know, and i did use the 4.0 automatics starter, because the 2.9 liters starter lets the battery cable hit the oil pan and ground out............just wondering what everyone else has done because the 4.0 i took the motor form was an automatic and i want to stay with my 5 speed and since it had a new clutch installed already, i would like to see what the rest has done and if they had problems with it.
