D21/D20 adaptor?

I was looking at the main page that the D21 adaptor......I am guessing that the 21 adaptor wouldn't work because the gear that pulls the front driveshaft wasn't there? did it bolt up and just not work?
71 Bronco - twin sticked, full width, 2" lift, wristed arm, lots of rust...

I looked into it when I was doing my swap. I took the pictures of the dana 21 at a junkyard. The bolt patterns were completely different and the spud shafts were different too. I decided it wasn't worth the hassel and bought the AA adapter.

It is possible. A guy used to have a website with all the details. Website is dead now.
