What fluid did you change?

Here is the state of my knock sensor and wiring. They were completely oil soaked and the clips and plastic has been breaking off. Exposed wiring, etc. And you'll notice the 2 wires going into the clip but the random 3rd wire that is clipped that goes to nothing. http://i832.photobucket.com/albums/zz...

Hmmm...yea, that's odd because I think that's exactly the same as mine was. Were yours attached to anything...like a heatshield or something? I didn't have a heat shield for my drivers side so I can't figure out the purpose for the double sided ones...

not on my bronco, but this happened to another car of mine....very similar description.....and it was the transmission and was going to require a new or rebuilt one.....I got rid of the car instead.

Definitely don't. It was never plugged into anything since I have owned it.

Thanks for the tip drofman. ha ha. I'm trying man, it's just a slow process because I can't find much time to work on it. So here it sits 7 months after I started.

You mentioned put a little RTV on those 2 spots....would you put it on both sides of the gasket?

....so....got the oil pan off, had it cleaned along with the pump, pick up tube and screen and it's ready to go back in to place with a new felpro rubber gasket. My question is if RTV sealant is needed here cause this thing is killing me. My first attempt was to use RTV and let the gasket set up jus...
