what size tire? I was only running 235/75/15s which put alot less stress on the diff than bigger tires. Also if my tranny hadent gone out its possible that the diff would have gone instead. But if you brake a 7.5 shaft, a 28 spline 8.8 would have gone too because they are the exact same shaft. Sound...

high pinon front diffs are approx 30% stronger than low pinion. The reason for this is in a low pinion differential, it is really just a rear gear set that is now being used in the front. This means that the gears now have to turn backwards of their normal rotation direction that they were designed....

you can use a jeep or f250 long bed drive shaft and take an inch or two off it, they use the dual cardian stock. Or you can pick up a f150 rear driveshaft and put the cardian joint on it. if you do any rock or steep tail running at all you will be so much happier with a sas hp d44 than a ttb d44 from a later f150. (btw most f250s ran d50s not d44s) Considering the amount of work and welding involved I would say it would take less work to get a sa d44 in there than a d50. less complic...
