How do I check to see if a tie rod is worn out? I have the stock suspension. I was checking things on the driver's side wheel after changing the tire. If I pull and push on the bottom of the wheel when it is on the jack I have some play. I can see some movement of the cap of the tie rod, no movement...

Well I decided I will not lift my 84 BII. I started thinking about many things: for now I will put some reasonable tires, drive it, and see if I like dong back road excursions. thanks, I will follow my manual time to readjust things now that is is getting cooler. Yea right we are still hitting almost 90 here in Vegas. I don't mind as I spent most my live in Colorado. I still remember starting a standard and having to let it warm up so you could shift it into neutral :eek: .

The front bumper was on the truck when I bought it. at pic a parts I found the brush guard on a 85-87? BII so I thought I would see if it would work.
