Re: explorer headers

i recommend manifolds off of a 289 for the conversion... better flow than 302 exhaust manifolds and they hug the engine a lot better so they fit great

Re: rear shock mounts

if it was me I would go to the local help yourself type junkyard and grind the rivets off a decent one and then bolt it in... you can also use a chisel and hammer to knock the heads off the rivets... my fav tool is a air chisel

Re: Engine mounts

I just used flat pieces of metal with holes drilled in correct places, on the stock 2.9 mounts, it holds up great and engine sits perfectly I will see if I can locate a picture

Re: 302 Will Not STart

tekatlarge has the correct answer.. it was the FPR it had a REALLY bad hole in it... ok so the solution/problem as a hole was as follows... The Plugs where half wet/oily and the other half sooty... one plug was really bad with oil which was 2nd back on drivers side(6) so as it turns out... the FPR w...

302 Will Not STart

ok well this is actually on my f150 but seeing as how a lot of you are so knowledgeable and run 302's I thought I would ask I drove my '88 f150 to work the other day and it ran fine except it was idling low so I figured it might be TPS so I unplugged the TPS and it ran fine until I got to work(20mi)...

I am surprised you managed to damage the stock t-case it is extremely strong even behind a 5.0L it holds up fine... anything from a Ranger or BroncoII 1990 and older will fit they are all the same.. just make sure you get either a manual one or motorized one depending on what you have

the answer(and im sure im to late on this) is the front drop brackets should be identical because the BII uses a D28 and the Explorer uses a D35 and I know for a fact that the d28 and D35 are interchangeable(good upgrade for BII) if the kit comes with leafs then the rear leafs will work just fine bu...

I opted to just change the whole drive-train... this can be a bit difficult to find t-cases that will fit... Rockcrawler and DBrown will probably know all the models off hand but I ended up using a 1356 and notched the frame a bit to fit it since I wont be doing any super hardcore stuff this worked ...
