Re: Wont get out of 4 wheel drive!

You may simply have worn out one of your U joints then. Normal symptom of a U joint starting to go is clicking. It looks like that because it's at an extreme angle provided by you lift. And while it has no choice but to go in completely the transmission end (xfr case) is the one you should worry abo...

Okay, we've passed chilly and now it's c-c-cold

Well, we broke some records here this morning. -25 not counting windchill. All I've got to say is that this 2.8 carburated engine is making a believer out of me. It fired right off this morning and got me through the snow, the icy highways and down the interstate to work (70 miles) and didn't even s...

Re: Wont get out of 4 wheel drive!

First off it sounds like you could be binding. I don't know what else you've done to your BII, but according to the Skyjacker web site, the driveshaft must be replaced on any suspension lifts over 2 inches. I very much doubt that you are using only your front drive axle, but it may be that you are n...

Re: Bronco II Computer codes

Not sure on the Neutral fail, it shouldn't be causing any problems, but I'm not sure why your computer would be giving a code for that, it may be referring to something completely different than the shifter. As for the O2 not found, that wire that connects the O2 sensor could get melted if the cable...

Re: C4 tranny

Most of the cameras that are out allow you to change the "size" of the photos before you take them. If it's a newer camera and you haven't set this, the default will most likely be what camera advertises such as 5m or 7m which are way too big for this. Try setting it down to 1.3 or smaller...

Re: After Market Carb

Same as above. The 500 doesn't need an electric fuel pump either. The stock mechanical one will supply everything it needs and takes one more thing out of the equation. (think KISS principle) Secondly, they rate the 2150 as one of the best carburators out there.. If it were me, I'd get back to basic...

Re: Synthetic Motor Oil?

I run 35K/year just commuting, so find I do oil changes quite often. I've been running the FoMoCo Synthetic Blend for years, both in my high mileage '95 Cougar, our '00 Neon and my "new" '03 Ranger. The Ranger specifies the 5w20 synth blend for oil, so that's all it's ever had. I recently ...

Re: C4 tranny

The transfer case and the transmission are separate. They do not share lube. Good luck on this, you might post your progress and maybe keep the dies that you use in case someone else would like to procure an adapter from you.

Should be only the Ranger doors (and BII of course) there isn't anything else in Ford's lineup that uses this body style.

Re: Cant find brake line

I've checked everyplace I know, and no one lists them.. Unless Ford does of course. You may have to build your own which isn't hard.. I know that there are a lot of folks that discourage this, but if you're careful and double check everything, you'll be fine. You'll need the tools for cutting and fl...

Re: '84 Roof flex

Cool. Thanks for the response. Just wasn't sure whether it was the first year or not. I'm replacing my headliner and so may just go with some DynaMat for the roof.. The bedliner's a great idea. Did you use Herculiner? I've looked at the fastenings for the roof rack and it's a lot of work installing ...

Re: Keeping the engine warm in winter

Well, even though I definately don't need one, I thought I'd do a look-see and I found that this company has the BII custom ones (I only looked up the '84) for $64.95. Here's the link:

Don't know what you $$ situation is, but take a look at this. You may be money ahead just buying the JD adapter if you know your tranny's good though:

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Check www.rockauto.com. Besides pricing, I like the setup because they usually have accompanying pics of the parts on there with part numbers etc. Nothing like establishing relationships to your parts houses locally though. An old guy at NAPA can probably rattle them off the cuff...
