Well I feel there should be access for everyone. This sport has grown many fold since I started back in the early 80's. And the area's for us to use has greatly decreased. In addition the ability of our vehicles to accelerate errosion has increased. Seems to me the mind set is that if you have 600hp...

Dose AA's radiator fit inside the front core support? If so then thats where it will have to go and a 4.0 radiator will not just bolt on the back of the core support stick out into the engine compartment like the one pictured above.

Your 3 core stock radiator should be good enough if you can get you engine far enough back to clear it. There will be problems with the engine mount cross member and fire wall that will have to be delt with though. The Duff Radiator fits inside the front core suport and gains you much needed room. I...

Well that's just one of the points. The 84 uses a different mounting system than the later BII's and Explorer.

I bolted in a "new" Explorer radiator in my 88 with a 2.9. Fits and looks great.

What year truck? The early BII had a different radiator and mounting. I cut my front support and installed a large Griffin Aluminum one in my 84.

A lot depends on what motor mounts you use and your engine location.

The tail housing and output shaft would have to be changed from your 4x4 tranny to your 2wd tranny to use the t-case on the 2wd tranny. You could ask the tranny guy what he would charge to do that. I don't know what C-5's and t-cases go for in your area but a C-5 from an 83-84 Ranger or 84 BII goes ...

TC, Have you taken a C-4/5 apart before? If not you may want to let a tranny shop do the work. You really need to keep stuff extra clean. I only did mine once. And I would have a tranny shop do it if I had to have another done. If your going to use a t-case, the tail housing the t-case attaches to n...

Oh yeah, and...uh... what is a cyron? TC In the new si fi series Battlestar Galactica "Cylons" look like people. Guess Nobody says he's human and not a machine.(but is he) :D Back to the problem. An auto Torque Converter can be tricky to get fully seated on the tranny input shaft sometime...

I have a J.W. 157 tooth bell and converter for a c-4. The flywheel I have is for a 80's up 50 oz balance engine though. The flywheel should be available at most parts stores though. Any idea where this guy is at?

I crawled under it today and it looks like I can use the stock crossmember/mount to support the tranny and the Skyjacker one to support the rear radius arm brackets. They are going to take some fab work to make room for the front driveshaft when I install the doubler, but I can go ahead and put them...

Crawl Ratios

What crawl ratios would everyone "like" to have. I'm running a C-5 auto. Can I get too low? If I use stock info on my BII I get a crawl ratio of 22.755 with 3.73 gears. If you say that is with 27" tall tires and figure for new gears with taller tires I get 4.56's with 33" tall ti...

The bottom part of the plastic housing comes off. This is under the glove box. The screws that hold it in go up into the upper half. And at least one maybe two are around behind on the firewall side. Then you just remove the hose clamps and heater hoses and it will come right out. I don't have my BI...
