Okay, so my radiator is skinny and tall and needs to come down 4 inches. Which is just the amount of space if I cut off the bottom support and lower it until it touches the frame. So, when I am offroading, will there be body flex? Will it damage my radiator if it is bolted along the sides of the fro...

Gee, that only took me all day to post. Anyways, you can see how I just bolted the original bracket onto the block and the bolt holes lined right up. I am going to cut the top off, but if you don't like this setup, it works two ways. It's hard to explain, but the other hole in the block lines up per...

On to the Radiator questions (V8 Conversion)

I got a radiator that will fit side to side with no cutting, but it sticks out about 4" on the top. So I can drop the rad lower support since I have the body lift. But... does anyone know if the flex of the body will damage the radiator with no front support? Meaning I cut off the top and botto...

FYI V8 Conversion Power steering pump

So, I guess this belongs in the Tech section. FYI. After looking forever for the stupid Power Steering bracket that the "professional" adapter companies say that you need (and is no longer being made). My stock BII bolted right up with a little modification. About $2.94 worth. I didn't eve...

They give you a long piece of rubber that looks like a big hot wheels race track. It's flexible and you can screw it in to block the gap and you don't really see it. But the space between the bumper and body does look a little funny. But not as good as bigger tires. In two weeks I am remounting my r...

As far as tires go, you want as close to 4" difference as possible. So 7" rims with 10.5" tires is just about right. This allows low tire pressure and still be able to keep a bead. As far as the body lift. I got a cheap 3" one from JC Whitney for $100. Just longer bolts and the s...

Too true. I am finding that the junkard is getting great business from me. I found a pump from a 78 Thunderbird and going down to the sticks this Monday to see if I can use the bracket and the pulley. I would get a saginaw, but the motto for my BII is "Wheels Turning!" So, whatever I can d...

It's not the pump, it's the bracket.
After a few calls the usual adapter that you can get from Ford passenger cars is no longer being made or available at dealerships. For those who are looking, you have to find a 78-85 Ford passenger car with a 302. Preferrably with A/C.

That wouldn't work for me since I went from a 5 speed to an auto. But I did talk to James Duff and Advance Adapters and they say that there is not really a good answer besides your own modifications. I imagined a shifter with the transfer case stick on the left and an auto shifter on the right, usin...

Aftermarket shifter on a 302 conversion

So, on my auto C4, the 4x4 stick pokes through the hole okay, but I know that I will need to get an aftermarket cable shifter so I can use the stock hole. Just wondering if there is a shifter with a dual boot or what anyone used out there. I see the B&M's, but I don't trust myself to hack it in ...

Power steering on 302 conversion

I have the old V-6 pump. Advance Adapters says that you can use a car bracket, but the number that they gave me is no longer being made. Just wondering if anyone else did anything different besides use the stock pump and find a bracket.
