I always like to know what I'm getting into, so i'd do a compression test or a leak down test. Up here we have a store called Princess Auto, it's a lot like your Harbour freight, tools to do these test should be available there. A 4.0L swap should be fairly easy and will bolt to your tranny. Wow, what a time converting to a new system, maybe not for those who know what they are doing, but for a dumb redneck like me it's a drag, but I got rid of my p3 and got a p4. Seems like yesterday I just got rid of my vic20. Now I just got to get my e-mail list back.

Knowing that it cranks over and not just clicks is good. My first thought would be to check for spark after it gets hot, maybe the coil is going bad, this is easy to do. LOL the first time I read your responds I thought it said you we're turning it into a powerful SNOW vehicle, Wow I must have winter on my mind. So you're not going to plow with it, I say chop it 3" and paint it flat black, nobody's ever done that to a bII before! good luck.

Do a compression test, but all 2.9Ls knock thats how you know it's still running.

I ran 235/75/15's with no problem. Wheel offset is the distance from the center of the rim to the mounting face. Google it for more info.
