Depends on what you can do, what you got to work with, and what parts you can get your hands on. In other words you got to do your homework.

Take a look at the thread called "5.0 install" read it through. Think about transmissions, drive shafts, cooling and other problems whoever said this didn't think about.

Did you check your vacuum lines? Could be a throttle position sensor. It would be nice to pull codes off it.

If you got a 2.9L then 2.9L heads will fit.

O.k you don't have a limited slip rear-end, but I think your problem is your spider gears. If you got a harbour freight or similar store get yourself a mechanics stethoscope and spin the wheels by hand and listen to the rear-end.

When you say they spin when in park but the drive shaft doesn't move, are spinning the same way then?

Do the tires spin in the same direction or does one spin backwards? I'm assuming the truck is on jack stands and your spinning them by hand.

Do you run anti -freeze or water? Did you check your brake fluid to see if your down any? I'd wash everything down really well with a de greaser and a hose, let it dry and just watch where it comes out of.

It's not. Too many projects, I've been picking away at the front end a little but no real progress. Sorry too take so long to reply.

What color is your interior? My rig was blue before the goverment painted green, it was a D.O.T truck. anyway blue interior with green paint looks like shit. Something to think about.
