Re: My Bronco II is a beast in snow
Bigger tires may be better in the mud but not in the snow. I think 235's would be about the biggest I'd go for snow. I suspect I'll get a lot of negative comments. Just keep it friendly. This debate is opinion based. I have had 205s, 235s, 30", and 33" and I would say easily 33s were the ...

Re: My Bronco II is a beast in snow
Yep, Bronco II's are great in the snow right out of the box. Get the right tires at 2-4 psi, and you'll make everyone look silly. Now give us our snow back. The trees and flowers are blooming on the left coast. I grew up in in snow country and know about letting some air out of the tires for better...

went to see an 86 Bronco II that was for sale
I drove 40 miles to look at an 86 B2 that was advertised as "staight and clean" and "low miles". When I got there I could see damage at fifty feet. Not a good sign. Closer inspection showed everything was broken, torn, or missing. As far as low miles.....well both the clutch and ...

tachometer
I have a plain BII with the standard insturment cluster and want to find a cluster with the built-in tach. Would it fit right in and work? My guess is the wiring is all there as it would be cheaper to built one wiring harness for all applications.
Has anyone ever added a factory tach?

Re: 88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (Updated 4/13/2010)
......I thought it might be bad fuel, so I ran 2-3 tanks of good fuel (including premium) through the tank... The BII computer is setup to run on 87 octane and anything higher fools the computer and actually makes the BII run worse. I don't think thats your problem here but just thought I would men...

Re: b2 ranger tail gate conversion
Great idea! In cold weather the lift shocks on my back door don't hold and last week I ran into the open door. Allmost knocked me out cold. I now carry a broom handle to make sure it stays up.

No one caught this but the 86 has the 2.9 engine.303lithgow wrote:I bought an 86 Bronco II last week with the 2.8 engine and the oil pressure always seems low, even when cold. Is this common?

Re: 1986 Bronco II, low oil pressure
I found a used instrument cluster and bought it (very cheap). But when I took mine out I discovered they were differant and I couldn't use the one I had just purchased. Since I had the cluster out I used some QD Electronic Cleaner on the terminals and presto! All guages now read normal -oil pressure...

Re: bronco II pissing me off, about 2 give up, graigslist it
my b2 was the same. it ended up being the injectors were all clogged up. i was getting good fuel pressure at the fuel rail but it was running like shit. i took it to a ford dealer and got an injector flush done and it was great after that. and it only cost me $60. hope this helps My B2 was running ...

Re: 86 B2 Hitch Receiver
I don't see why not! Let's go camping! I found a used receiver from a B2. It sure went on easy; I thought it was going to be a nightmare. It already had the wiring but when I plugged the trailer in the lights wouldn't work. A shot of QD Electronic Cleaner and a dab of Di-Electric Grease solved that...
