Re: Creative use of a drill press

Could you add in a fender washer above the cutoff wheel to cut down on deflection?

Re: another tfi question

One more thing I wanted to get out there. The first TFI I bought was the $50 one from napa. It had a circuit board inside but was hollow otherwise. the second one I got was the $90 one from napa, the one from Echlin. I had been filled and the circuits encased in some kind of epoxy making it (hopeful...

Re: Not your normal power loss from AC

I had an idea about this in the middle of the night. Yesterday I argued with some d-bag about the dubious claims of power gains from a cold air intake. 7.3 diesel sized intake on a honda 4banger. what a moron. anyway I was remembering about how the previous owner (my old man) had drilled a bunch of ...

Re: Keyless entry and remote start.

Sorry about being so slow in updating this. Apparently the B2 manual transmission does have a neutral switch. I think the first time I changed the clutch when I was about 14 It disconnected it and tucked the wire up and never put it back on. It has 12v to it all the time and the switch closes whenev...

Re: another tfi question

You might want to check the connection at the Inertia Swt located on the pass. side towards the firewall. Sometimes they corrode at the connector. The fuel gauge is on it own circuit. Yeah I was aware of that. That's why I bypassed it a few years back. haha It turned out it was the in-tank fuel pum...

Re: another tfi question

Another update. Put in the 2nd new tfi module and it still didn't start. I had spark now so i knew that the tfi was working and i had some other problem. (the first new tfi might not have been bad after all. but they swapped it for the better one so im happy). neither fuel pump was coming on. checke...

Re: another tfi question

Update: The TFI module was bad. I ran the resistance test and the reading between the coil negative and the hall effect ground was 0, short circuit (supposed to be 4.2 kohm) Never heard of one failing in this way so I wanted to put this out there. New TFI and it started right up. only problem, the n...

another tfi question

Hey I was looking though threads and diagnostic procedures and wanted to ask everybody here My '88 b2 died while sitting at a stop light yesterday. It cranks over but wont start. I am getting fuel but no spark. I tested the power to the coil against ground and got battery voltage on the power side a...

Fixed transmission brace

I finally got my transmission brace back from the machine shop. It was too expensive to get bushings big enough to replace the stock ones so they made a steel sleeve to fit smaller ones.
I hated to put undercoating on the beautiful paint job they did but I need this one to last.

Re: Not your normal power loss from AC

But why would the power loss continue after the AC is switched off? and I need to clarify what I put in the description. The problem is worse if it idles for a while with the AC on and then start driving. or if its on and I stop at a light. If I turn it on while driving on the highway and dont make ...

Not your normal power loss from AC

Ok you guys Im really stumped on this on. As its just starting to get warm enough here to run the AC, I just now noticed the problem. I know the AC always causes a noticeable power loss but this is crazy. If Im on the highway and i flip on the AC it looses a little power like normal. but after about...

Re: Keyless entry and remote start.

Update on this project. Sorry i never got pics posted. I unhooked the remote start after my BII went "christine" on my like I was afraid of. I was going into the store and hit the start button in my pocket. I hear the activation honk and started scrambling to grab the remote back out of my...
