Re: R&R'd Clutch Manual 5 sp Tran- Now no reverse and Hard Clunk
Hate to state the obvious, but you're going to have to pull the tranny again to see if there's anything wrong with the clutch, but it sounds as though your tranny has taken leave...

Re: What would you do
I know how you feel, that's why my '88 is sitting with a bad head gasket and I went to Tenn. to pick up my '84. The wheels cylinders are inexpensive, maybe $18 for new ones. Get the rig mechanically sound and drive it until you find another. Then instead of a daily driver, use it for the abuse you d...
Re: Snow!!
Well I don't know about the annexation of N. California or the exclusion of Idaho, but the rest looks good.

Re: Burn Notice
Yeah, it's one of our favorites... All I could think of when I saw that it was a BII, was "why'd he have to break the window?", and then NO!, another one bites the dust! It was nice looking! I liked it after he said they were going to need more horsepower, that they then picked out the BII...

Yeah, I heard that TekatLarge! But boy do I love the Great NorthWet.. Never thought I'd ever leave there. If you all ever get around to leaving the union to start your own country, I'll be back. The Great NorthWet, where: You don't tan, you rust Home of: Washington State Rain Festival - Jan 1 to Dec...

Re: to drain or not to drain coolant
Nice pic RangerDave. My thermostat began getting lazy this winter and now opens up early. Still has plenty of heat though. Unfortunately I picked up all the parts to swap it out and the three bolts that hold the housing are tight. I expect that they are corroded. Was really careful and still broke t...

Yes, those are stock. I believe they were only on the XLS (sport) model.

Re: Carb rebuid?
The reasons behind it are as Nobody said. Breakdown and replace all the 20 year old rubber and gaskets... The instructions for the rebuild of the carb should be pretty good and lead you through the rebuilding process. Whether you decide on doing it yourself, or buying a rebuild, make sure when you p...

Re: Engine and lift swap or body swap
That's gonna be some fun when you get to swapping the body. I'm pulling mine this summer because I'm changing out the fuel system from my 89 to go on my 84... I would love to have those ground effects from your original BII though!
Re: Snow!!
Sorry buddy, just had to take a second look.. Thought that was frost...
We could use the 70 degree temps though! Wasn't just a month ago we had -30 plus 40mph winds... It was a bit chilly.

Re: tranny swap
You shouldn't need to modify anything. Pull all the parts from the BII with the 5spd and put them in your driver.

Re: cold hearted
Sounds like your carb is in need of a serious tune up.. Not replacement, just an adjustment which will take all of about an hour. Get out your favorite manual, follow the instructions for the tuneup and then do it a second time. Take your time and do it properly.

Re: Heater help!!!
Yeah, I'd check the heater core, simple to pull and while you have it out you may also pull the blower motor (also easy) and see where your leak is coming from... As stated in your other post, this could be because of a stopped up drain in your vent system or it's less possible that you have anti-fr...

Re: Update: Synthetic Oil...caused leaks.
Thanks for the follow-up.. I'm still using it in the '84.. Haven't noticed anything different, but haven't been closely monitoring either.. As said, some of those leaks would have shown up eventually, and some of them have shown up because you are now looking for them..... That Motorcraft oil is a v...
