Re: leaf setup?

You can use something to compensate the 2.5" for each leaf spring. Mabey have something like this http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=DCC%2D4120075&N=700+115&autoview=sku to replace the stock shackles, but instead of having them curve out, put them on the ...

Re: major problem with my bronco II

My 89 did this a few times and started shaking REALLY bad during each little session. It would only do it every now and then but it hasnt done it in like a year....
Must not have been that serious cause the thing runs fine now.

Re: Most popular leaf spring swap???

Im running a D44 up front. I was planning on getting longer coils to match the rear lift. 6" would do the trick, I can tolerate a little fender trimming....
Whats the max lift you would go with on shackles? Do F-150 coils give the front some lift?

Most popular leaf spring swap???

I was originally thinking of putting 63" chevy leaf springs on the back because Ive read so many good things about these springs being swapped on Toyotas. However I looked at the Bronco and I think the body mount in front of the leaf spring mount would cause problems. I then started thinking ab...

Re: 1984 Bronco II

Im pretty sure that all of the 4.0L explorers had the 8.8 rear axle. Im not sure of the front axle though. You can keep your stock engine and trans with that 4.0L

Re: Dads Old BII

If your looking for a cheap route, and you need an engine, I would look at junk yards for a 4.0L v6. Since you have to do a swap, it wouldnt hurt to make it worth the effort. For suspension, just find an old BII at a junk yard and take the essentials.

Re: 1984 Bronco II

I think the best axles for your swap would be an Explorer 8.8 in the rear and a Dana 44 in the front. As far as engines go, the 4.0L would be the easiest and should get around 17mpgs range.

Re: What differential and what gearing?

After lots of research, I dont believe this is a posi unit. Should I go with a spool or would the stock diff. with a spool up front be benefitial enough?

What differential and what gearing?

I have a GM 12 bolt that Im working on and Im pretty sure it has a posi unit it in. I was thinking of selling the posi and getting a mini spool but I want it to be a on/offroad rig. Will the spool cause REALLY fast tire wear from turing? Should I keep the posi and go with a spool for the front? Also...

Re: Anyone done a D35 SAS?

From my understanding, D35's came from earlier Jeep cherokees. Mid 80's models.

Doesnt look like you have any fender trimming....???? Didnt realize a Bronco II needed 7 " of lift to fit 33's snug like that. Nice looking truck!

Re: Soft top conversion

I will be making my BII convertable within the next 12 months for sure. I plan on doing it the right way with even edges and making a real button on soft top just like the original convertable Bronco II's were made. I will have a detailed write up.
