Yes it has been done. A buddy used to run an Ranger with that set-up. And I have a Ranger/buggy with that set-up, is a hydraulic clutch set-up. But i do not have any pics :rolleyes2:

You can unbolt the shift motor from back of t-case and manually shift it out of 4x4. Follow the wiring harness attached to the motor and locate the control module for the t-case, cannot remeber if there is a fuse there or not.

If you going with a c4/5 combo get a manual shift t-case from an Explorer. If going with a c4 from an early Bronco, get an D20 t-case.

I got my 5.0 HO from an '87 Lincoln Mark VII, looked like a Thunderbird :D Am putting a C4/5 with manual 1354 from an Exploder behind it.

Those rims are 15x7's :D And should be able to fit them on, won't have to worry about popping a bead off even at super low air pressure :redneck: Had a buddy running 36 x 13.5's on 15x8 steelies. He never lost a bead :cool:

Do not forget about the clutch pedal and floor pan with correct holes for the sticks. And the computer needs to be changed out for one from a 5-speed truck. Am doing same thing to mine, but have an '85, so am trashing 'puter and putting in the dura-spark :D

The whistling sound might be a vaccum hose for the heater system :hmmm: Maybe. Am pretty sure that '90's have 2 fuel pumps, but dunno for sure.
