Re: 1990 2.9 help
That question has been asked a lot. I know it didn't give any extra power to have the smaller throttle body. I don't ever remember hearing a justifiable reason for the change. Some thing that is common knowledge with those who have been around these engines for a while. The 86-87 model years had a ....

Re: 1990 2.9 help
My 86 B2 came with the 58mm and it was a screamer, even before changing the exhaust and the intake, however, I owned a 92 Ranger that had a boat anchor 2.9, when I installed a 58mm on it there was a noticeable difference, I did not upgrade the intake system at that time. If you are serious about squ...

Re: 1990 2.9 help
You are going to be somewhat limited on what you can do to get more power from your 2.9 without spending $$. These engines were only put into RBV's for 6 years, but there are a lot of them in wrecking yards and back yards still. Beware of early 2.9 heads, they were very weak and quite often cracked....

Re: new home!
Looks like it will work. My only concern would the the size of the skate wheels. Being small diameter means anything on the rail where they ride is going to make movement difficult. Also what is the capacity of the wheels? they are designed primarily for items rolling over them, not for supporting a...

Re: new home!
How good are you at building? Probably the best all around hoist/crane setup I have ever had was a "gantry". The one I built would lift a 7.3L diesel with nary a whimper, was on wheels and could be moved around the shop to get it right in the way of what you were doing. It was also collaps...

Re: 88 bronco 2 brakes help
+1 for tekatlarge Brake inspection and replacement of all the parts that even look suspicious is imperative. From what I saw in the pictures, I would replace everything from the steel brake lines on the spring buckets out. The parts are not that expensive and will save lives. You must live where the...

I believe all headers need gaskets.
If I had to pick a place to look first, it would be at the right rear, near the heater box.

Re: 88 bronco ii driving down road and then shut off
88 was the last year for 2 fuel pumps on the B2, you can install an 89-90 pump in the tank and eliminate the pump on the frame rail by putting a tube in it's place. this link has a lot of parts for A/C and fuel problems, http://www.perm-o-seal.com/catalog/default.asp on page 7 you will see the tube ...

Found a couple places that might help, follow the links: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/2_8_FuelInjection.html This link tells about the 2.8 and it's roots, but you may find it interesting: http://www.broncoii.org/techpages/history/index.html I also Googled "ford 2.8 fuel injected...

Re: Needs some work- exhuast question
tekatlarge: Thank you, now I know why I have never seen or used one, actually I have, but it wasn't a kit, had an exhaust shop install new pipe and mufflers on both of my RBV's. I have known a couple people who removed their cats and had all kinds of problems until they replaced them, these were ele...

Re: i need some help her guys
Probably the best advise that can be given, put in a 91 or newer 4.0. Don't get me wrong, the 2.9 was the mainstay of the B2 and was/is a real screamer. It has been termed as a near bullet proof 4x4 engine, and from past experience with them, I have to say that is a correct analogy. They were produc...

I resize in a photo program for use on web and email then put them in my photobucket account and link to it from here. If you don't already know, you can resize pictures from 1-4meg, down to under 100 kb with most programs and still have a good quality picture. The photobucket accounts are free for ...

Re: will a 5.0 bolt up to an a4ld transmissio
Kinda need more info. What you trying to do? What engine you working with? What? What/ What? To answer your question in a general sort of way. If you are trying to bolt a A4LD that came from a 5.0, to a 5.0, YES, it should bolt right up. However, an A4LD from a 5.0 will not bolt up to any inline 4, ...
